‘A Voice to the Skin’

Spring 2023

As part of a group exhibition at The Pipe Factory, Glasgow

As part of a group show at The Pipe Factory, Glasgow, 'A Voice to the Skin' is an unfolding of a psychoanalytic narrative of the self, through the allegorical and spiritual signifier of the shrine. Capturing the ephemerality of the shrine through photographic prints to trope the temporality of the self and memory.

The arrangement of personal artefacts and photographic prints indicate the correlation between records of identity, grief, and the spirit of the tortured self.

Kallitype and salt prints float mounted in reclaimed antique frames. Prints are printed on found archive paper and on the back of found photographs.

Frame sizes: 25-38cm (h), 21-46cm (w), 1.5cm (d)
